Two premiere solo performances of contemporary dance will end one-week long residency organized within the 16th Gdansk Dance Festival in Klub Żak. Megan Mazarick (US) and Andrei Kamarou (BY/PL), two professional dancers selected in an open international competition will present effects of working on development of the dance solos submitted to the competition.

 „tentacle” by Megan Mazarick in which, the dancer and choreographer takes upon the topic of her father's illness. It tries to answer the questions what influence does an individual have on the world and do we ultimately exist only in the minds of others? Are we just a memory? "tentacle" is a dance story about Megan's father's slow decline due to dementia. 

Megan Mazarick is a Philadelphia-based choreographer, performer, and teacher. She combines movement with theater and text. Her choreographies are personal, humorous, and political using the elements of improvisation. Her work has been presented internationally (in Singapore, Bulgaria, Egypt, Poland, Australia, Hungary, and Mexico) and throughout the USA. She taught technique, improvisation, and composition classes. 

"No borders" by Andrei Kamarou by an outstanding composers such as Bach and Beethoven. People with disabilities who created works that are still relevant today. Through the dance and the use of sign language, Andrei tries to show the strength of these people. Their ability to overcome obstacles, but also a kind of weakness that each of us experiences in the moments of doubt.

Andrei Kamarou is dancer and choreographer a graduate of the Belrusian State Academy of Arts in Minsk currently studying Dance in Lodz, Poland. He performed on the stage of the Polish National Opera in “Maria de Buenos Aires” and in “Don Kichote” at the Grand Theatre in Łódz, Poland.
